This second antibiotic is FINALLY doing the trick and I am feeling much better.

YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Current problem, inevitably, is a yeast infection is so bad that it has made me bleed from horrible little ulcers. But, after 24 hours of treatment that has improved, so I hope that by tomorrow I will be - erhem - sitting more comfortably. I am also tossing up as to whether or not I am getting an oral yeast infection as well - steroids and antibiotics is just such a yeast loving combination.

I am nervously waiting for my daughter to arrive home after her first university exam - she has high functioning autism, so this is huge for her. I never thought she would make it to this level. She will have finished nearly an hour ago, but I don't want to bug her by ringing her mobile. Whether or not she passes or fails, I am just really proud of her.

cheers

that is awesome news !

I am very happy for you and for your daughter.

As for the yeast, do you take that pill? I can't remember what it is called, but you take one pill and that does the trick for one week. No cream.

hope you continue to improve !

thank you everyone for your replies - yes I am very proud of my daughter, despite the fact that she drives me nuts most of the time, but don't they all.

Anyway, my err, 'nether region' is much improved, and I am sitting much more comfortably today, finally. It really has been pretty savage. Even more exciting is that my lung infection is improving daily and I am now hoping to be able to start taking meds for my anemia next week. Yay !!!!!! So it's all good.

about the cream versus pill for thrush - unfortunately the cream is free, the pill I have to pay for, so it's no surprise that I use the cream. I still have another week to go as I am definitely not stopping using it until AFTER I have finished these dratted antibiotics.

cheers

I am very glad you are on the mend at last.
Your daughter has done wonderfully well and you will be so proud of her - congratulations. It is such a pleasure and relief when we see them doing well and embarking happily, for the most part, on their own lives.

Hey Raglet,

I'm glad to hear that you're on the mend and that you're sitting more comfortably. I have exactly the same problem with antibiotics so know just where you're coming from there!

Super huge congratulations to your daughter!!! You've every reason to be proud!!
