Hi :)

Anyone been prescribed this drug - Fludrocortisone?

My doc suggested i try as i sometimes feel faint/dizzy and thinks i may have orthostatic hypotension (low Bp when standing)

Hi Ocean,

My father was on that drug, he had Addison Disease.

I googled it and found it is also used for low blood pressure.

USES: Fludrocortisone is used to treat low levels of corticosteroid hormones (e.g., Addison's disease).
OTHER USES: This medication may also be used for certain types of low blood pressure.

Thanks Bigsis and Lyn for your replies,

Been on this med just over a week, havent really noticed much improvement yet.
Ive been having headaches the past few days, dont know if its a side effect of the medication or something else i'll mention it to my GP if the headaches continue.
