Hello all,

Having asked you a few weeks back to pray for my Dad, I felt I couldn't not tell you of his passing.

He passed away yesterday after having had a while at home in more comfort than he could have had at hospital.

I am sad he is gone but happy that he is now in peace and no pain. In his lifetime he was such a "larger than life" character and someone who so totally took over everything (including your life and the neighbour's if he could...) that it was hard to know he was housebound and so weak he couldn't stand.

I will remember him as the most unbelievable character, who, although he made many mistakes in his life, lived life to the full and did everything that he wanted to do. All our friends were always jealous of the stories we, as children, could tell about him.

I was able to get the first plane out of Belgium and am with Mum.

Thanks to you all for being there and for praying for him. I'm sure it made that difference that meant he could be home and have the time to say goodbye and to have the strength to give up the fight - if you see what I mean.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I know your sadness is very deep right now as well as your mums. I am glad you were able to get the first plane out to be with her.

Know that I did pray for your dad and although he is gone I am happy too that he is not in any pain, no suffering anymore and got to spend his last days in his home with loved ones by his side.

I will ask God to give you and your family the strength to move ahead in the up coming days. It is difficult to say goodbye, but know in your heart you will meet again................someday.:wink2:

Dearest Katharine,
I am grateful to you for letting us know.
I hope you and Mum will be a good comfort to each other. Even if your Father didn't always get things right he still managed to raise a good person in you.
Sending lots of love,

Dear Katherine,

I am saddened to hear of your dear dad's passing. It is wonderful, you have such fond memories of him, also that he passed at home, in peace, and pain free.

I am glad you and your mum, will be able to comfort one another.

May your heartache ease, and be comforted by your strong memories of him, and his zest for life. He sounds like a genuine corker, and I for one, wish I could have met him..and heard some of his life adventures.

Sincerely,
Sandy

Hi Katherine,

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost my Mom a couple of weeks ago, so I can feel your pain. If you were like me, I thought my parents would be here forever. It's a tough one!

I'll keep you and your Dad in my prayers.

Annette
