Hey everyone my doc appt is finally here YEAH:) I need to get off the imuran its really making me sick, I want to try metho and will see tomorrow what my rheumy thinks... I can't take plaqniel due to my chances for detatched retina are high but, doea anyone know of any anti-malarials that don't affect vision? also is there any generic migraine meds out there? I did a search and came up with nothing, although the way I have been feeling these last few months I surprised I get anything done right!!:/
Any insight is always appreciated!!

Quinacrine/mepacrine is the other anti-malarial that can be used in lupus and it does not have the slight risk of eye problems like Plaquenil does. It tends to help skin issues, and fatigue and some joint pain issues too. It's not as widely used, and doctors tend to not think about it nor want to prescribe it for whatever reason.

Good luck at the appointment!

here are some links on migraines:

The 2nd link is a glossary of terms used in the article, but lists several medication names and their generics.
