Hello everyone
My daughter & I went to see a children's rheumatologist yesterday & I'm delighted to say that my daughter is fine!! :yahoo:
After a very thorough examination the rheumy put her symptoms down to growing pains & viruses
..she did think her skin was quite mottled and also red & purplish but not enough to be concerned about at the moment.she ruled out raynards due to her having no problems with her finger tips & her hands/feet don't go white either.
Regarding her positive ANA she explained it could have been due to a virus? & other children can also have a positive result but it doesn't necessarily mean there is anything autoimmune going on...she seemed quite shocked that my GP had said she would definitely develop lupus because of it! :grrr: and she reassured me that there was only a very small possibility of this happening.
However, She did request some further blood tests for chelsea to see whether she would get another positive result & also other specific blood tests for APS due to my sister having it...I thought she had already had the APS test? but forgot to ask
So all in all a very pleasing appointment
and as you can imagine we are very relieved indeed!!
Thankfully chelsea took the whole experience in her stride & it doesn't seem to have affected her in the slightest!
I would like to thank you all again for your amazing support! you kept me sane!!!:grhug:
love & best wishes to you all...karen x x
