I have been dealing with what I call the "head thing" and clued in today "I wonder if it is Lupus related".
Basically, it seems like vertigo, but I don't have the spinning. Sometimes I have to sit for an hour or so for it to pass. I get it just from moving around in the kitchen, making supper (bending over) or doing dishes (going back and forth from the dish tray to the cupboard. I just get lightheaded, fuzzy and sometimes nausea, but rarely.
It started in the middle of February when I was diagnosed with diabetes from the prednisone. At the time my vision was extremely blurry so I couldn't function at all (thank goodness for good husbands). It took several weeks, but the blurriness went away and it was blamed on my high blood sugars. The "head thing" never went away. Both my family doctor and endocrinologist do not think it is related to the diabetes. I saw an ears, nose and throat specialis yesterday and he said my hearing and ears were find. He is going to send me for a balance test, just in case there is a problem there.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? It is very annoying. I can't function or drive most times when this happens. And it happens pretty much every day.
Thanks.
