My heart is so heavy with worry for my dearest friend on earth who has Melanoma. He starts chemo on Monday, so I'm asking for prayers that the treatments will work to destroy the cancer. I don't know how I could make it in this world without his friendship. Thanks so much.

Hi Mary,

I am sorry your friend is dealing with this and sorry Lola lost her friend 17 years ago.
I do think treatment is better now. My friend is in remission almost 5 years from Melanoma.
I will pray for your friend and a good outcome.:wink2::wink2::wink2:

I'm sorry your friend is ill at the moment.... :(

I hope his chemo goes as smoothly as it can possibly go and that he recovers very very fast from this battle that he's having to fight right now...

I know cytoxan and chemo for melanoma aren't the same at all, but one thing a very good friend of mine did and that always helped me on the day after I got cytoxan (when the nausea was at its worst) was bring these really small cheesecake ice-creams that I loved to the hospital. I usually couldn't eat more than a small bite but something about the ice-creams, I've always thought it was that they were cold and kind of bland tasting (as in not salty, not particularly sweet, not spicy so nothing that could upset one's already upset tummy), helped soothe my nausea just a little bit. Also the fact that my friend was there month after month repeating this little ritual helped immensely.

Keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for everything to go well with your friend's treatments. I'm sure you will do whatever you can to help him through this ordeal, but remember to take good care of yourself too...! :fingers::goodvibes:

:foryou:

I want to thank you all for your kind words, it helps me so much to be able to share my pain. I know I have to be strong for him but I feel like I'm falling apart at the seams trying to keep it all inside. It's good to have a place to let it all out when my heart can't keep it in anymore.

Thanks so much,
Mary

The prayers and good thoughts for my friend are so very appreciated. I am trying to be positive but right now but it's not easy. He is looking into an isolated limb infusion...don't know if he will be able to have this treatment or not, but praying that he can, as it is his best option. Thanks for being here for me. It helps so much to read your kind words of encouragement. Keep saying those prayers.

Mary
