Hi

I wanted to say a big 'hello' to everyone on this site.. I have been reading some of the posts and have already learned more and felt more support than I did before, so thank you all already!

I have been diagnosed in drips and drabs over the last few years.. sort of keep adding things to my list every time I see rheumy

So far I have something that floats between Lupus sle and rheumatoid arthritis.. hypothyroid, fibromyalgia, migraines (sticky blood type?) uctd and some other things that have appeared then dissapeared over the courses of treatments i've been trying.

By the way, I'm bursting with questions but will I look forward to reading more here and maybe I can contribute to some discussions when i get the hang of things :)

take care

Sharon

Hi Zoi

Thank you for your message and currently I'm on methotrexate/folic acid + steroid jabs which is really helping to dampen things down a bit..and just baby asprin for sticky blood.. I have basilar migraines which I use rizatriptan for and thyroxine for low thyroid.

In the past I did try plaquenil, anti-seizure meds, anti-depressants, volterol and every mixture of 'over the counter medicines'! even tried sleeping tablets as I just thought if i could shake the tiredness i would be 'fine' -

My symptoms seem to mainly be joint/muscle pain, migraines and headaches daily..low energy/weakness. Oh yes and lots of odd things which until I came here and started reading I dismissed as 'just me'.. I am due to go to rheumy again next week , but this time I'm going with a list!

Anyway , thanks again for support

Take care

Sharon xx

hi nice to hear from you, hope ur coping ok
Welcome Sharon :)
I'm sorry you have so much to contend with.
You might find that Plaquenil would help and there's no reason it shouldn't be taken with Methotrexate. It is a very important disease modifying medicine.
Among other advantages, it slightly thins the blood and helps relieve fatigue.
Make sure you aren't suffering from any form of anemia this goes undetected surprisingly often and is sometimes very easily corrected.

I hope you will find the support and information available here very helpful.

All the best
Clare
Hi Clare.. and thank you for your message

I will mention your points to rheumy next week and yes will get iron checked too

Many Thanks

Dear Sharon,
I don't think we have said Hello yet. If we have please forgive me I get muddled spells but I would rather welcome you twice than not at all.

PS I used to live in West Sussex, Near Chichester.
Hello from another newbie. You'll find it's great to "talk" to others who totally "get it" when discussing meds, symptoms, etc. What did people do before the internet? It must have been so much harder.
