I was recently diagnosed with lupus and have an elevated c3 complement test. Does anyone know what this could mean?:worried:

Thanks!

Hi Stacy,

Whilst we most often hear of low complement levels in Lupus it's possible to have a high one during an acute phase of inflammation. It often shows up before the other ones like elevated levels of ESR and CRP.

Doctors usually take all things into consideration when diagnosing lupus so there were probably other factors involved in your diagnosis which made it more concrete than this alone.
