Last week, my family was blessed (haha) with the flu. Not just any flu, but the flu that involved throwing up from the bottom of your toes and having horrible diaherra, really bad. Now I can hear many of you say, "Well this wouldn't have happened if you just had a flu shot." Well, let me tell you, I DID. Ok, I'll wait a few minutes for that to sink in........tra la la la, tra, la, la, la,

Yes, you read that right I had a flu shot. It was when I was in the hospital in October that I had it. Evidently the last time I was brought in and the staff decided that i needed the shot and I must have been in lala land when I got it because that is something that I normally wouldn't do.
So anyway, last week when we all had this horrible flu. The throw up from the bottom of your toes to the diaherra from well, you know. And I had thrown up for so long that I didn't realize that my electrolytes were off. I found this out Saturday night because my heart started to race mighty fast, so into ER my daughter took me. Now this is when the doctor looked at me and thought that I was drug seeking, he is a jerk. Come to find out, not only were my electrolytes off but my blood count was way down. How far down? Well my hemiglobin is supposed to be like 10 something and it was now 7, That bought me two units of packed red blood cells as well as four K+ riders (potassium). I then started to feel pretty good as soon as the blood got into my wonderful veins. Ahhh, paradice.
Then last night, I started hurting all over with the majority of the pain being in the legs and knees. I didn't know if I was going to make it or not. I finally found the heating pad and took enough pain pills that I finally got semi-comfortable. Totally fotgot that my new blood was getting run around in my broken body and that the pain might be a little harsh. Oh well, at least I feel better.
