Hi all,

Back in October my Rheumy said that she had reached the end of the treatment ideas for me and so has reffered me to St Thomas' to see me to see if they have any further ideas.

I still haven't heard anything and I was wondering if this is a normal length wait people have or should I be chasing things up?

Thanks
K

That does sound longer than usual to wait for a first appt. If you ring the Unit you can be put through to the Appointments Centre which deals specifically with first appointments. If you are getting nowhere ask to speak to PALS, they are the Patient Advice Service and are very helpful-the Operator at Tommies can put you through.
Best of Luck,

I would take Lola's advice and give them a call!

I too was referred to St Thoms Lupus Clinic beginning last September and it took 3 months for the appt to appear for mid February - about 5 months in total.

Like you my local Immunologist has reached end of treatments that he is able to provide locally.

Take care,

Lesley

Thanks for your advice. I have just called St Thomas' and they have never heard of me! Grrrrr.
I called my Rheumy Dept who swear they sent a letter but cant find it so they will sort out another 1 and send it!!!! Sounds a little fishy to me.

Either way, thanks so much for your advice because otherwise I would have just waited thinking that I just needed to be patient!

Thanks again

Grrrr and double grrrr and triple grrrr

So glad you followed this up. Just shows that it pays to chase these things up. Our gut instinct is very important. Something was obviously niggling at you.

Let us know how you get on

Best of luck

Many more grrrrs from me too:mad::mad:

While I have faith in the professionals, communications within the NHS are notoriously bad. If in doubt its best to check personally

Hope you don't have to wait too long.
