Hi, everyone
Sorry I did not post lately, but, I've been running back and forth to the hospital. My TSH was high and the doctor gave me a radioactive iodine treatment on January, 19th. Last week I had an ultrasound and they found a module on my gland. Then ,they took a biopsy, I am now waiting for the results.:worried:
That is one thing, an other is I had problems with my vision, and numbness on my face and hands, loss of balance and a few more weird things happening to me,like difficulty to speak and searching for words that I could not find. Send me for an MRA, Doppler and EEG also waiting for some results. Also have anemia.
This with all the joint pain, the lack of sleep and the shakes was a little more that I could handle. Did not have the strength to log on my pc. Again, an other sleepless night, sorry for complaining, but it is about the only place I can allow myself to do so.
Big Hugs to all
Thanks, feels good to complain!!!

Hi Micheline,

I am glad your doctor is trying to figure out the cause of your symptoms. Good luck with your tests and biopsy report.

You should be aware there is no perfect way to know the exact dose to give of the radioactive iodine. They have a formula to approximate it but it depends on how your body reacts. If you start feeling more sluggish than normal or are always sleeping check with your doctor. There is always a chance you can slide the other direction and there are medications to help get you back to a normal level.

Take care,

Hi Micheline,

I am a little confused. It was my understanding the T3, T4 and T7 would be increased but the TSH would be decreased. Did you have an unusual presentation of hyperthyroidism?

I hope you start to feel some positive benefits from the treatment soon.

Take care,

Hi Michelene, So sorry you are not feeling well. Please share with me how your biopsy turns out. For about 2 months, I felt like there was something stuck in my throat.I went to the the doctor 2 times and was put on 2 different Anti-biotics----they kept treating me like I had a sore throat. Finally, I had an ultra-sound on my thyroid, which showed a nodule. I am having a biop. March 17. I have had SLE for 11years and severe Raynauds, During the winter months, I feel so isolated, because it is too painful to go out. Sometimes life gets a little over-whelming. Glad we have a place to vent our frustrations. Sending you good thoughts. Rose

Michelene,
It sounds as if you have been doing bad, and for that I am sorry. I hope you are feeling better these days. Let us know what the tests come back as am a little worried for you. It helps to get things off ones chest and out in the open even if there is nothing that can be done to fix it at the moment.

Hi

Hello everyone!
Well , I got my biopsy report today. Not very good news. Turns out I have cancer. I am now waiting for a date for surgery. Surgeon will have to remove my thyroid gland along with tumor. Then I will receive an other Iodine treatment, but this one will be 10 time stronger than the one I already had. Hope, all this won't be to hard on me. Wishing you all good health, it is so precious.
Love

I'm so sorry to hear this... I'll be thinking of you and hoping and praying for the best outcome of surgery and all additional treatment you'll be getting. May you have a return to better health very soon - it really is one of the most important things in life all too often taken for granted. Does your particular type of cancer have a good prognosis or perhaps they won't know more until after your surgery? Best wishes...

Sorry to hear about your appointment, now at least they can get on and get it sorted. Thyroid going so unbalanced can make you feel lousy so hopefully this treatment, though hard, will help everything to balance again. I wish you all the best with your surgery, let us know how you go :worried:

Good morning

Thanks for your reply!!!
Feels good to know I am not alone. Actually I don't feel to bad, I had 2 good nights sleep and that was a blessing. Cancer is not new to my family, I had 2 sisters who died with cancer. Also my mom and dad both. 5 sister had breast cancer, Today 2 of my sisters are fighting cancer, now it's my turn, at lease me they can operate, them they can't do anything anymore. Have a good day, all of you.
Thanks again for taking the time to listen.

Dear Miche

I am sorry to hear you are facing this but you do have a positive attitude and that will help you enormously in the days and weeks ahead. I hope that your cancer is one of those that is easily cured. Im very sorry to hear about your family history with cancer. :worried: What a terrible time you have all had.

I wish you every success for the battle ahead and I will keep you in my thoughts.

Hi

Thanks,
Well, do I ever sleep, seems I am getting all the sleep back that I lost in the past month. I am awake for half an hour an go back to sleep again, so now I sleep night an day. I got the call for my surgery a while ago. My operation will be on the 26th of this month. That is to quick for me, They did not give me time to take in the cancer news, and now the date just in 2 weeks kinda made me nervous. But, I guess the sooner the better. Let's hope for the best...
Bye for now!

Hi Micheline,

I am sorry to hear about the biopsy results. I wish you luck with your surgery.

Your new found sleep may be due to your first treatment. After mine I started sleeping around the clock. Once the surgery is behind you I am sure the doctor will be checking your levels to make sure they don't drop too low.

Take care,

Here again

Hi everyone,
Here I am again searching for air, woke up at 4 and now can't go back to sleep. can't explain how I feel??? Maybe I am having panic attacks, I don't know, I am cold and warm at the same time, I'm having cold sweat. i feel scared, and so alone. I walked back and fort in my apartment trying to take a deep breath of air for half an hour. Finally decided to log on my pc. I notice it kind a relaxe me. And,I might be able to go back to bed. Sorry about this complaining, I just did not know what else to do. Now I think I'll be fine, I hope anyway. :?
Thanks for being there !!!
Your all a real blessing
Bye for now

HI Miche, wouldn't be surprised if you were feeling panicky.. you have had alot to contend with in a short space of time. I know the surgery seems very close and a bit soon for you, but it is good to get it done, just think you will hopefully start to feel better that bit sooner as a result of being in there quickly! Don't worry about posting here to air your worries etc, keep doing it if it helps you feel less alone and able to unload a bit.. we don't mind:rotfl:
Just take care of yourself in the meantime...
