Thanks to all of you who had me in your prayers;) I just got my decision letter today and it's in my favor:) I have been working on this for close to 2 years, and it's all over.... no more hearings! I also owe a lot to our Lord, as I know he had a lot to do with this!

Thanks again:)

Congratulations!

I just got my letter 2 weeks ago, saying that I met the medical qualifications, so now I am waiting to see what I will get and how far back they will go. I filed in 2006, but my actual disability date was accepted at 11/2003.

All the best and well done!

Thanks:) I was DX back in 1998 with Lupus SLE, but wasn't considered disabled until 10/2006. I had a hard time finding a good doctor that could treat me for Lupus, that by the time I found Dr. Reichart I was in so much too much time had gone by, and she wasn't willing to declare me disabled right away. She tried everything in her bag of tricks to get me well, but nothing was working, and that's when she brought it up, about going on SSDI. I also have also have other illness (Lupus Anticoagulant,Sjogrens,Fibromyalgia,Hypo-Thyroid & Osetoporsis) and still with all that I was denied my first try.

Well am just like you waiting to find out how much I'll get and how long as well.

Thanks again for being so nice;)

Hi Connie,

Fantastic! That has to be a great load off your mind.

Take care,
Lazylegs

You bet it is:wink2: it's been way too long in waiting for this to happen, as I was DX with Lupus SLE back in 1998, but wasn't declared disabled until 10/2006. I can't wait to get my first check it should be really nice one:)

Thanks again:)

Congrats Connie.

Don't spend the retro check all in one day...:rotfl::wink2:

I just might do that with all the bills we owe.... No, but really I want to save a good part of it, and do things that I haven't been able to do, like get my hair done, it's been way too long for that. I need to get a few more clothes to fit my fat body, something I can wear outside of the house, if you know what I mean... Like most of those with Lupus, the meds make us fat, and am no longer a size 7/8 those days are gone:sad: That was my size even after I had 3 kids, up until 2001, then it went up up up from there:sad: But at least am healthy that's what my hubby say's. :)

Thanks again:)

Congrats Connie!

I didn't answer your other post not wanting to jinx anything. :wink2: Your hearing went much better than mine so I had a feeling you would be approved. My judge made me feel like I was on trial for doing something wrong. My lawyer isn't done with him yet, I know he didn't appreciate that kind of treatment either.

It's really nice to see people like us finally getting the treatment we deserve. We didn't ask for Lupus and everything it brings. I'm sure we would rather be normal and working but we can't. We suffer enough without the added pressure of being able to afford the things we need.

Enjoy your back pay, you waited long enough for it!

Thanks Tom:) I wasn't too sure because my judge was like that too, he was acting like I was lying about everything, and I keep trying to tell him I wasn't. He would say, I said something different everytime he asked me a question, but I kept telling him I don't remember things that well, (as it's stated in my medical reports) but he kept on & on about that. I thought I was done for. I told my husband that I feel I had a better chence on winning the Lottery, but I guess I was wrong...:)

I will keep you in my thoughts & prayers.

Take Care,
Connie

Thank you so much for being so kind:) you know I will do just that (buy new clothes). I can't wait until I get my first check, I have a lost of things that we need to fix around here, like bathroom faucet,Garbage disposal and on... just not having the money to do the simple things like that, can really make life easier.

Hi Connie

I missed your post also because i been out of town for like two weeks.I am so glad to hear also that you are being awarded with the ssdi because the financial stress that the waiting can cause is worse then any other stress i think anyway.I really hope it will help you to feel better and most definately you need to do something nice for yourself as you really deserve it ((((((hugs)))))))).Take care of yourself.

Thanks for being so kind:) I still can't believe I got it, it's like a dream come true :) There is so much I need to get done, and want to do for myself (like get new clothes) but most of all put money away...save save save:) I really need new furniture too. Gary & I went looking tonight for some, and found a nice set (sofa set) my old one is about 13 years old, so this is really needed.

Well thanks again for being so nice:)

Cogradulations!!!!!

Thank you so much for being so kind & thoughtful:) It really does mean a lot to me & my family. I had emailed a few friends about this and one of them was very nasty about the whole thing:mad: She acted as if it's coming out of her pay check. I had mention in my email... that it went by what I paid in, but she told me I was lying. It makes me so made that a perosn who you thought was your friend..... would be like that. I thought she would be happy for me, but instead she was very nasty about it. I sent her a reply telling her how I felt, and that she's so wrong. I haven't heard back from her, and I don't think I will. She acted like I didn't really need it, and that am lazy for getting it. But like most of us in here, we know what it's like to live this way.... in so much pain. I also have disc problems in my back, which is very painful, as you know.

Well sorry for going on like this, but you don't know how good it was getting your nice message:)

Thanks Again,
Connie
