I know this is an odd question and I only posted the other day about my skin biopsy. But, I forgot to ask this and I think it is pretty important, especially as I want to be armed with a lot of questions when I go for my next dermatology appointment which is coming up shortly!

If they have already ruled out Lupus by doing ‘one’ lot of blood tests, when they do the skin biopsy tests will they look for lupus or will they not bother!

I hope someone understands what I am trying to say. I am so out of it at the moment due to the amount of PK’s and meds I am on it is making everything confused. But I really need to know so I can be prepared!

Sorry!

Regards

If they do a biopsy, then the pathologist will look at the cells and will either see the characteristic signs of lupus or not. It's not quite the same as a blood test where they have to specifically do a certain test to it in order to know if the blood contains auto-antibodies for example.

Good luck with everything - I hope this biopsy will give you some answers ;)
