Newer studies done seem to suggest that it is safe. It is ultimately up to you to make the choice for you and your baby; be sure to discuss with your doctor and provide studies such as this one since most physicians will not stay up to date on the more recent evidence of safety of medications for breastfeeding. It's not high on their priority list and most would rather be "safe than sorry" and not prescribe a medication than risk a side effect on the baby.
The best book out there is written by McHale, most lactation specialists will have a copy and they are probably the best person to consult on medications and breastfeeding.
