Hi Jaki

Nice to meet you. Im from Dublin and I see Grainne Kearns from Beaumont. I really dont have anything to compare her with but my GP swears by her. She is always quite pleasant but very overstretched. I tend to end up seeing one of her registrars and I have found one particular one, Lorraine O'Neill, to be a good communicator who really listens to what I'm saying. She gave me her bleep number and doesnt seem to mind getting the odd call/question! I have managed to see her now on three consecutive occasions but I cant pick and choose who I see so I could end up seeing any one of them the next time.

What part of Ireland are you from? There is a web site for the Irish Society for Rheumatology and they might be able to recommend someone?

The email address is: [email protected]

Heres another link which maps out Rheumatology services in Ireland

There is another member here who used to post who attends Dr. McCarthy (female) in the Mater Hospital, Dublin and swears by her. There is a male rheumatologist there as well - Dr. Conor McCarthy - that another member here recommended. I dont know if the two McCarthys are related.

I hope you get a great doctor. Im sorry your current one is retiring. Who is it by the way? If you find a good doctor be sure to post and let us know. We need all the help we can get!

Take good care
