Can anyone provide a recommendation for a wig? My hair loss has become so apparent that I am considering a wig. I'm not sure what would be best, a synthetic or real hair. The thought of having to wear a wig is so depressing, but I'm so self conscious about my hair loss. I feel every is looking at me, which adds to my stress, which results in flares. I know this issue is small in comparison to my other issues, but I'm thinking if I look a littler better, maybe I'll feel a little better. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would opt for natural, don't forget how hot they can be. I too have the whole combover situation going on. Personally I am going to shave it and get a swanky hat if it gets worse. What colout hair hasve you? Mine's black and I find using eyeshadow on the scalp covers the hairloss up

Sue:

There are associations that provide wigs for free for people with conditions. They are wonderful and come to you with a large selection. I would do a little research and find one near by and see if they cnnot assist.

I went with the shaved head look myself...I really liked the big eared, big nosed golf ball look I had for about 5 months....my hubby and I laughed about it...so that I wouldn't cry.

Once they took me off the arava and put me on cellcept my hair grew back fast and furious...now it shoulder length and very curly and I refuse t get it cut!

Hope you find a solution you can be happy with - Love Stephanie

Thank you so much for your responses and words of encouragement. I have (or had) brown hair. Thank you Stephanie for the suggestion of looking for a wig assistance group. Disability income doesn't allow for luxury items.

Susan,
I am sorry that this seems to be so upsetting to you, would like to say that you are the same person with or without hair, perfect! I believe that it is the syn wigs that last longer but have special shampoo's to be used on them. It will not matter which wig you pick it will be right for you. You should do a web search to get some idea's on what you would like and what is the easiest to care for. I wish you the best with your new hair and hope that it helps.
