Hello Everyone,

As the saga continues with bad luck, I ended up in the Emergency Room of our local hospital.

My stomach ulcers are back and this is of no surprise to me as my stress level has been through the roof.

I just finished wearing a Event Monitor for over a week and shipped it back to the company early this morning. It showed "Sinus Tachyacardia".

Yesterday I had a Echo Cardiogram that was totally normal, showed no damage or scar tissue. I really thought I was in the clear.

Well, very early this morning I woke up with the feeling of someone putting a knife into my heart and it coming right through my back in the shoulder blade area.

It was just horrible but I thought it was referred pain due to the gastric ulcers. I waited for my husband to go to work, took a shower and drove myself to the ER after speaking to my Gastroenterologist on the phone.

Today they did another ECG study and it showed:

Unusual P Axis with ectopic atrial rhythm.

I have no idea what this means as I just got in my door from early this morning and I have not had time to Google it. My cardiac enzymes were all perfect so they know this is NOT a heart attack.

They told me to follow up with my Cardioloigst and Stomach doctor, and I most certainly will.

Any insight that someone, anyone can provide to me as to if this is a Lupus/Mixed Connective Tissue thing going on would be much appreciated.

I have to call the airlines and cancel my trip to Louiseanna. I was to fly out tomorrow morning at 10am but now I just can't go. The doctor suggested I do not fly until this issue gets fixed.

I just hope the airlines will allow me to re-book my flight at a later date without charging me additional money. I am so frustrated right now!:mad:

hello Karol,

I'm so sorry to hear you are having such problems..I know we have similar heart issues at the moment and although I cannot help you at all I just want you to know I am thinking of you. Hope you have googled that now and have a clearer idea of whats going on.

Hi Karol,

So sorry to hear you ended up in the hospital (((((((((Karol)))))))) I have no idea about this presentation but I sure hope they can shed some light on it for you quickly, it must be a worry :(

I'm sorry too that you have to miss your trip :( as we say quite often around here Lupus sucks :(

Gosh sweety i am so sorry to hear about the new stress you are having(((hugs))).I really hope these doctors get going on this and get it figured out.I am also so sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip and hoping the air lines does not make you pay when you feel good enough to go again(((hugs))).Hang in there and just know i am here for you:).

Sorry to read that you are not feeling well. :(

Having heart trouble is very scary. I know how you are feeling.

Hopefully with having a doctor say you can not fly will make a difference when you talk to the airlines.

Sorry you are not feeling well, Karol, and that you had to cancel your trip. Pray your Doctors get this all sorted out. I had a friend that had to have a triple bi-pass this past Tuesday and came thru just fine. Gave me a good scare. Good friendships take years to build, didn't want to loose this one. Hi Karol, im so sorry youre going through all of this right now. i hope it gets resolved for you soon. i know exactly how you feel ive been going to the doctors for a couple of months now including a couple of 911 calls to the emergency room. and nobody seems to know exactly whats going on with me.

i know that i have been having depression and anxiety issues lately but im not totally sure if this is the only thing going on. Anyway i hope things get better for you soon. take care, Lydia

Hi Karol,

Your episode sounded very painful :hug:. I hope it doesn't reoccur. Let us know what it means once you find out.

Karol,

I was so surprised to read about your hospital emergency. I hope things will sort out for you. Please try to take care of yourself. If it's not me your writting to for concern, it's you i write to for concern. Were all concerned for you. Don't know what is going on these days. But things have to get better all around. Stress is a #1 factor for everyone, and funky things trigger our bodies to go out of wack. I am sure with a doctors note the airlines will give you a credit. They wouldn't want an ill person on the plane with doctors orders and have that responsibility. Please keep us posted.

Thanks for the replies.

The Airline was not understanding at all. My husband told US Airways that we will NEVER book a flight with them again and that the reason they are headed towards bankruptcy is because they are not customer friendly.

I will be calling my GI doctor Monday morning to pick up a script for a CT Scan of the abdomen. This will be about the 15th scan in 3 years time. Good god does it ever end.

I did not have a follow appointment with my Cardiologist until the third week of May but I will be calling also first thing Monday to get in much sooner given the issues going on.

I still feel horrible and the pain is really bad. I spent most of the day in bed today and just hope for a better tomorrow.

You have really had a time of it here lately. I can not believe that now you have this going on you poor thing. Ok now the good friend lexsure. What were you thinking driving yourself to the er Karol? I am glad you are ok but this could of been really bad and you had no way of knowing that dear. I am glad that you will follow up with the doctors and I wish you only great news. You might want to let the airline know that you have just had a medical condition come up but you would like to book it at a later time when all this is cleared up and they may not charge you the additional fees. I hope you are feeling well and doing good also. Let me know what is going on with you.

Hi Tammy,

My husband did let the airlines know all about my medical dilemma and they really did not care. They are not customer friendly at all but moving forward I will never use US Airways again.

A couple years ago I had a similar situation and Southwest Airlines was more then understanding. We have had 3 run in's with US Airways and 3 times is a charm.................WONT BE USING THEM EVER AGAIN.

I will be having more tests done this week, story of my life.

Let you know how it all goes.:wink2:

I am very sorry to hear of this latest development - yet more health worries.

It is too bad that the airlines wont make concessions for cancellation due to illness. I have never heard of that before! I had to give a doctor's letter explaining why I was unable to make a transatlantic flight because of my mother's ill health. Virgin couldn't have been more helpful: they let me postpone twice, didn't charge a change fee and then upgraded me wehn I eventually returned.
Some credit card payments also come with a travel insurance. I hope your luck will turn very soon.
I couldn't understand this medical condition when I googled it but I got the impression it might not be all that serious in fact. I hope I am right but of course getting severe pains and worrying about heart problems can't be taken lightly. Thank goodness you can access the specialists Here's hoping you get some reassurance soonest

Karol I am so sorry that you are having to endure yet more troubles. I have heart issues and I know how scary it can be. I hope that you can get in sooner with the cardiologist as this will help you. In the meantime, rest up.

Thanks for the kind words clare and deb.

Clare, US Airways is not customer friendly at all. There was no insurance purchased so I have lost out on the ticket as well as the money too.

When my mom got sick and was in Florida my brother called US Airways to explain that he had to fly down NOW instead of in June as my mom was in the hospital, in critical condition and near death.

He asked if he could bump up the flight and fly early and they said NOPE!!!

So, it cost my brother a couple hundred dollars to fly down in order to get there ASAP. Again, we will NEVER use US Airways again. They don't mind taking your money yet they do not want to give anything in return, even in a health emergency.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

As for my heart, I will be seeing the doctor sooner and he is going to be doing a couple more tests to determine if in fact this is something not so serious or something that may need to be looked into more. I will keep you posted once I get some answers.:wink2::wink2::wink2:
