Hello,

Hope everyone is ok - not been here for a while-had another good bout of being well! But now i'm back again:rolleyes:

I went to my rheumy yesterday or a usual check up and i mentioned one of my "new" symptoms - when i breath in or go from a warm enviroment to a cold one i get pain in my lungs which is located at the top of my chest.

I had a lung function test back in September which came back fine as i had a similar problem then. She didn't want to do another one as i wasn't wheezing or anyhting drastic. I'm also not breathless!

Today however my lungs are a bit more sore and i was wandering if anyone had any ideas?

I'm a woodwind player and i've just been playing my clarinet and discovered my lungs really don't like it!

Hi Jellyjazz,

I am happy to see that you had a period of feeling well.

I am not at all sure what is causing your problem, especially since your rheumy just had a good listen and didn't find anything. However when I had Pleurisy breathing in deeper and cold air caused pain in my chest. If your symptoms get worse I suggest you get checked again.

Take care,
Lazylegs

Thank you for the advice:)

Thankfully things seemed to have calmed down quite a bit. I just keep wrapping up warm so i don't have to breathe in the cold air!!

jellyjazz,
It is wonderful that you had a chance to enjoy a little bit, I am sure it was much much too short of a time though. Is it possible that you have a touch of asthms? Your bronical tubes may not be opening up all the way with the change it temps. I was glad to hear that things are calming down a little for you. It is worth checking into, it could be nothing to do with asthma. I hope you feel better soon.

lung pain

Hello Jellyjazza,
I also have lung pain, I had plursey in the beginnig of my lupus I went to pulmy. and they said I have scare tissue bulit up so my lungs hurt when there hyperextentived (when I sneeze or yawn) and I also get shot winded when goin up and down stairs.they arent treating me for it. I do take storids every day it helps. You might want to get a breathing test done to see if you lost % of your lungs I lost 10%. Hope all goes well for you.:) Lori
