Can anyone recommend a good lupus specialist in Surrey?

Just had some blood tests done and they've shown up a few things which is starting to make sense with all my other symptoms.

I fortunately have medical insurance so can see someone privately if need be.

Thanks.

Dear Clara, The London Lupus Centre would be a very good bet for you. Right opposite London Bridge Station. I would recommend it.

Hi Clara,

The London Lupus Centre is a good choice, if you can get the referral - although thats not where I attend! It is important to make your choice not let your GP choose for you, so do research first before deciding who you want to see!

I see A Dr Karim Immunologist whose speciality is in SLE!

He spreads his time between Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley, Surrey), The Royal Surrey Guildford, and St Thoms!

Only been seeing him a year and only diagnosed with SLE in Dec 2007 - so visits to him are new and so is treatment!

Good luck!

Thanks Lesley.

After reading Lola's post I'd read up on the London Lupus Centre and my GP has agreed to refer me there, but seeing your post, it might be 'easier' for me to see Dr. Karim.

I will have a good look into everything I think and make a decision.

Don't let you GP refer you until you are sure though! Its hard to then change and re-refer!

Good luck!

Love Lesley
