I've been on mxt for 9 weeks now, 4 wks at 10mg then 4 wks at 12.5mg now on 15mg and hoping to stay there. It's helped a lot - i have a lot more energy, and my skin rash has all but cleared up, and joints aren't nearly as sore, although they do swell regularly, and can be painful at times.

I had a period 3 weeks into starting my mxt - which was on my normal cycle, i also take a non-oestrogen pill daily, but haven't had anything since. I read on the leaflet that periods can stop/be infrequent. Just want to know how anyone else finds it. It's strange as i feel as if my period is coming (funny stomach pains) but nothing happens..... frustrating - i like things being in order and happening when they should. :)

Hey the first time i was on methotrexate i was taking 15mg tablets and they messed my periods up sooo much...they would come like every couple of weeks and then none for ages and id get paranoid i was pregnant(really bad idea when on mtx). Then I just started methotrexate injections(6 weeks ago) and like a day after the first injection i got my period (was mid cycle!) and then the next one was 5 weeks later. So its all a bit odd again. So yes methotrexate mucks up your periods lol! My rheumatologist said its just one of the side effects because it messes with your reproductive bits! GRRR annoying huh. Glad mtx is making you feel better though-definately worth this inconvenience if its working. Better check yur not preggo or anything though just incase! xxx
