Hello again everyone.
Hope someone can help me. I have now been given yet more antibiotics for my 2nd bout of Sinusitis in 4 weeks. It started with what seemed like a bad migraine as though someone was squeezing my head in a metal vice. Since then my head still aches across my eyes, forehead and across my nose. I have stuff from my nose running down my throat. I feel so shattered and low that I keep crying. I am also freezing all the time and have really sore eyes, its as if they feel cold. I was dx with SLE 3 years ago and have an appointment at St Thomas's in 10 days. My dr has sent my for lots of blood tests to rule out anything else, but he seems really ignorant to Lupus as just says could you be depressed. Aaaaah, anyone got any good advice to help clear these symptoms. I take sertraline and plaquenil daily and now take an anti bioitic and decongestant tablet. xxxxx

Comforting hugs for you

((((((Angie))))) Virtual hugs for you. So sorry you are feeling so poorly and wish I could help you. Unfortunately, I have no advice, just lots of hugs and sympathy. Certainly have been there.

It's good to hear that you will be going to St Tommie's as I've heard all good things about that place. Hopefully soon you will be getting the treatment you need to make a turn around and feel better soon.

Meanwhile, keep warm and rest as much as you can. Do you have a water bottle? If so, warm it up and keep it with you to take the chill away. And remember that depression does run with lupus; so many of us suffer from it. So it could be some part of what is making you feel so low. Not that you aren't obviously sick! Just that it could be making it worse. I feel helpless because I don't know what else to tell you!

Let us know how you do at the upcoming doctor visit and take care of yourself.

Hi Angie,

It sounds like this is a recurring problem for you? I wonder if it would be helpful to see an ear nose throat specialist? Ask your GP or the doc at St Thomas'.

It does sound like you are truly miserable with this...I hope you feel better soon:(

Hi Angie,

i'm sorry your having a hard time with your sinisitis. I used to get that often. There was one year i had sinisitis for months and it is the most miserable feeling. So I feel for you.

A couple of things that helped me was a prescription nasal spray called NASONEX. It is a steroidal nasal spray that helped clear up my sinisitis with just a couple of applications.
Also a few hot sea salt baths helped. The sea salt holds a lot of minerals and can also be used as a nasal rinse with water. While in the hot tub you should put warm compresses on your face a few times to relieve the pressure from the congestion. It is an unbelieveable feeling when you put the warm/hot cloth to your face, it immediately relieves the pressure.

I hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

Good luck
Take Care

You have my fullest sympathy - I know that feeling all too well! You've been given excellent advice but if you were given the same antibiotic as before then I'd request a different one. I might also request a longer stint on them too.

I hope you're feeling better soon!
