Some of you know that I was feeling a little crazy recently (anxious and depressed) and that my rheumy referred to a psycharist. Well I had my appointment on Tuesday so I wanted to let you know how it went.

It was quite hard but I felt better afterwards, she diagnosed me with mild depression and wants me to take anti depressants (she's checking with the rheumy about which ones to give me). She also wants me to do Talking therapy but it's not particularly viable with my job. She's also sending me a few leaflets in the post and has recommended a book which I've ordered. Hopefully all of the above will help me feel better in myself.

I am coping ok without the Plaquenil at the moment - in fact I feel better than I did on it, but that could be a coincidence.

Thanks to everyone for all their kind words on my last thread.

Hi Becks,

I am glad your appointment went well. Hopefully the book will give you some other ideas of how to look at and approach life. Do you have a return visit for a follow up?

Take care,

Hi Becks,
I am glad that you are feeling a little better. It is great news about the meds. Would like to offer to chat with you anytime you need someone to just unload on if that helps any with the talk therapy. I too am on anti-depressants and this it helps some. I do not feel I am a depressed person as I make a joke out almost anything. Maybe that is my depression the jokes or I could just be a cheery person, well it don't matter I am here if you want someone to chat with, again great news for you.

Tammy - that's exactly how I feel! Thanks for your offer of chat - I may well take you up on it next week!

The GP has asked to see me in a couple of weeks time, after I've started taking the pills, just to check how I feel.

Hope you're getting on ok with yours Kiara?

Will keep you updated. thanks again xx

Hi Becks

I am so glad things are starting to turn around for you and sure hoep the anti depressant does help you a bunch((((huugs)))).I also take two differant one for myself and they have helped me out and i used to be on a anxiety med also but we were not sure if it was interfering with my bladder.Just in life in general can get to us but then to be dealing with a disease and so many things that can go on with your health does not help at all.My rhueme also at one time recomended i see a therpist also but the money for one just was not there.Well anyway please keep us informed on how you are doing.

Hey Becks - yes im four days in and hardly had any side effects - just felt a little wobbly a few times - how about you? My GP made a follow up appointment with me for three weeks in so it must be standard practice.

Do take the opportunities to talk with professionals where possible - i find it incredibly useful to help me unthread my life and move forwards which can sometimes seem overwhelming and impossible...... Im sure you know that your employer should allow you the time to do this as its health related.

Maybe you and i can also talk in chat sometime if you are about? Let us know how you are getting on with the meds -
Best Wishes
Kiara
