I have a friend who lives in New York City and another in North Jersey but I am not sure what kind of doctor your looking for. Do you need a Rheumatologist, Neurologist, Hematologist???? Does your daughter have Lupus or any other auto immune diseases that may be more specific for a certain type of doctor?

I will get in touch with some friends to get you names but can you give me a little more information as to what your looking for.

Hi JJs Mom,

I'm seeing an excellent rheumatologist at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. If that's the specialty your daughter needs, shoot me a reply and I'll send you the contact information. :)

Hello
There is also the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan with a specialised Lupus Centre under Dr Michael Lockshin. I think NYUMC would also be good and I have heard good things of Sinai and Columbia. The ACR site has a list of rheumatologists by area with their specialities. The SLE Foundation in Manhattan would advise too as would the NJ Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America. I think that Dr Robert Lahita who's a very well known lupus specialist is in NJ at the Robert Woods Johnson Hospital ( ?)
St Luke's Roosevelt used to have a lupus team but I am not sure if it's still there as several of them moved to OK.

Best of Luck
