Hi all,

I have googled the above procedure but not had much luck with the information supplied.

It would be nice if someone on this site has advice based experience of this procedure.

Really interested in whats involved, is it done after MRI, procedure, effectiveness!

I would be grateful for any assistance, I will of course still keep googling for more info myself!

Thanks!

Hi Lesley,

What kind of nerve regeneration procedure are you looking for in google? General information on nerve regeneration possibilities or something specific about a specific problems?

Zoi,

I have been put forward for nerve regeneration in the lower spinal area (c5 downwards) and sacroiliac!

Not looking at CNS nerve regeneration which I think is quite rare and risky!

Lesley,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with your lower spinal area and sacroiliac joint... :(

The only information I could find on google is about two procedures the first of them being Radiofrequency Neurotomy where doctors create a heat lesion on affected nerves and disrupt their pain pathway to the brain (roughly speaking) and the other being Pulsed Radiofrequency Neurotomy where docs target the affected nerves with an electrical field of sorts and disrupt their function (i.e. the pain signals they send to your brain).

Both procedures have more to do with nerve "destruction" (or degeneration or disruption of nerve function) so to speak than with nerve regeneration so I don't know if they are the same procedures you've been put forward for.

In case they are here are some links with information about them:

Hope that helps a little bit :)

Thank you Zoi!

That link has been so helpful in explaining what actually happens!

Not sure yet whether I will have this treatment! I have issues with being treated by Pain Management Clinic without a diagnoses of why my spine is causing me pain.

Hoping that I can get MRI to see what damage has occurred before further treatment!

 Just noticed whilst tyoing this that youve added more links!

Thank you so much Zoi!

Hugs!
