:) I finally have my Neuro appt, 17th Nov.

What do they do to you, what sort of tests?
The appt is going to take an hour.

I'm getting paranoid about the traveling already, and if the weather turns bad, OMG......

I've just reread the letter, What is an EMG test for?

Hi Doris,

The EMG will check the reaction of your nerves in the areas affected. You don't need to do anything for the test ahead except not wear lotion. My doctor is certified so when I go in she does all the normal neuro tests before she begins.

The test itself is simple. There is a little discomfort but it passes quickly as each point of stimulation only takes a couple of seconds. I have posted a link giving more details.

Good luck. Let us know how your appointment goes.

Take care,
Lazylegs

I had my neurologist app and it was interesting. I had an EEG done so I assumed it was to get my results. He ended up doing these little tests.. stregnth test.. like "push my arm" "dont let me push you hand down" .. the reflex tests and then he had me answer a bunch of questions.. ask me to remember things and then go back to them. I had no clue what was going on.. after I left I was told that they do this often.. to help them diagnose. I thought maybe I was crazy.. turns out I have complex partial seizures. Good luck with your app.. write down some questions.. its always good to be able to write them down so you do not forget. I was COMPLETELY thrown off by my diagnosis that I walked out with only some words and in shock.. ended up calling later on with questions LOL

Hi Jenna,
Thanks, it looks like he's only going to do a EMG, but who knows once i've spoken to him he may do more.
It means alot to me, all the support that you all give.

Hi again Jenna,
When i was seeing the Rhuemie, she done the strength tests on my arms & legs, it was because i could'nt stop her that she is sending me to see him. I have noticed that the strength in my arms has changed within the last 5-6 yrs, i can't lift anything to heavy anymore & even helping someone lift something i can't hold on to it for very long.

Does the neuro deal with headaches?

Hi Doris,

Yes neuro's are usually really good with headaches and working out what type they are and giving you the correct treatment. Good luck :luck:
