Hi all. I am getting a referral for a new Neurologist. I had to kick loose the one that I had. You see, I get these tremor type jerks and such and he told me that I am taking too much Lortab and that I need to stop taking it and learn how to "suck it up". Excuse me???? Let me hit him all over his body with a sledge hammer and see how he feels. Anyway, my Rheumy is giving me a referral to St Louis. Would like doc to have priviledges and/or be associated with Barnes. Now that is my preferrence. If there is someone better somewhere else then please share. I really want to get to the bottom of this. No one will sit next to me at supper anymore. They are afraid that I will douse them with whatever I am drinking. hahaha

Love ya all,
Nancy

What dose of Lortab are you on and how long have you been on it?

Your old neurologist may be right about the tremor/jerks being caused by this drug. Your respiratory issues may also be caused by it... Here is a quote from one of many reputable websites:

Other long term effects of Lortab use include liver damage, neurological damage and respiratory issues.
Damage is even more likely if alcohol is consumed regularly too.

Here is the link to the full website:

There are ways to get off this drug and switch to some other type of pain control, but it would take a lot of work and some professional assistance to do it since I believe you've been taking this drug for quite a while now.

I personally hope you are able to do it, it's probably the right thing to do all things considered.
