I moved your post to start a thread of your own because you might get 'lost' at the end of another post.
Welcome to the Forum. Yes its very good to talk to others who understand what Lupus is about. This is a wonderful place for advice and support from people of all ages with Lupus. We have a number of young members about the same age as yourself and hopefully they will be along soon to welcome you.
Some of us 'oldies' are quite nice too!:hehe:

My name is Zoi and I am 23 years old. I've been diagnosed with lupus for almost two years now.
The forum is a wonderful place to get to know other people with lupus. I hope you will make many friends here... :bigsmile:

WelComE Cheyna! I am 21 and was diagnosed with lupus when i was 15. It's hard being young and having lupus. I didnt get to do what other teenagers did and i was homeschooled 2 years because of the disease. I hope you find help here! Did you have any problems in school?

I told Immi ( Imogen) about you. She is in the bath at the moment. She spends hours in there as it is good for her joints.
She sends her Regards. Her Brother used to see a Paediatric Rheumy who travelled here from your Hospital.
Immi had a really bad time at the beginning of this year with Lupus and a Heart Murmur. She was very thin and looked dreadful. Luckily she is quite a bit better now although she has just had to adjust her College plans as she just misses so much time.
She would love to know more about you. She was never able to do sports. She did try a gym for people with disabilities but her knees in particular just could not take it.
She is looking forward to being 18. She has been learning to drive but again has missed lessons due to feeling bad. She finds sleeping at night hard, so we are often up at 5am watching rubbish on TV!
She tries to find other things to talk about rather than Lupus and hides how she feels from most people.
She does love piercings and tattoos and has a few. I don't really like them but at least she hasn't got any new ones for a while! SHe loves wildlife and knows a lot about it. She was Home Schooled for years. It was a bit lonely but she has made some good friends since. She and her Brother are quite close although maybe a little less so since he met his Partner.
She loves Game Shows on Tv, even the repeats and drives us mad with them,
Her biggest skill is getting her Dad to do everything for her.
She and I look very similar although, sadly, she is taller and slimmer than me!She can be a bit reserved at talking to people so pass a message through me and I will make sure she answers you.

You have just found a new world and welcome. I am 41 and would like to talk with you about your lupus as I have had it for at least 15yr. You could not of found a better place to be. I am pretty new here myself and like you had not really found anyone with lupus. It was a releaf to find so many people that have it and truely understand what is going on in what I called my world only to find it is our world. I hope you find comfort and knowledge here, friends will just happen for you. Nice to meet you.

HEY!! hey i'm 17 cant believe i'm saying that lol i was diagnosed with sle when i was 13 so much time has passed and i didnt even realize it lol well im glad u found this site cuz it totally rocks and there are so many amazing people here that i consider them FAMILY!!! hope we can chat soon =] oh yea i'm cecee lol

hi lola and immi. i only like talking to people in hospital where i am now about lupus. cuz no one else understands what people like us go through.i missed loads of school but i do drive. i live on me own and find it very hard at moment. i listen to music alot cuz i love it. i did have my lip and my eyebrow pierced but took them out lol. i have two tattoos. wildlife cool! i like views where the sun sets and things where i like to think. but sometimes i think too much and get depressed xx

I will definitely get Immi to be in touch with you herself. She does not like talking about Lupus much either! It has not been easy for her having a sick Mum. I know she thinks I fuss her too much. I am glad you drive it is a big help.
