Folks, my Rhumy sent me a blood test slip through the post with a request for the following additional tests.

Does anyone know why they would have asked for:

Urea & Electrolytes
Liver function test (I think this ones self explanatory)
Bone Profile
Glucose
Cardiac Enzymes (this one worries me most)
ENA
ACL
CRP

I'm thinking just to be more thorough, although it's confusing that they haven't already done the ENA (antibodies relevant for autoimmune disease diagnosis like ssA/ssB, etc.). The CRP is just another test for inflammation. ACL stands for anticardiolipin antibodies which can be found frequently in lupus patients. The others are fairly obvious I think.

I'm thinking they just want to be very thorough, & not much to worry about really.

Thanks Maia.

I'm trying real hard not to worry too much at every little thing, but am getting there but only very slowly :)

I agree with Maia Surferboy.

I am actually shocked that they did not already do a C-Reactive Protein on you.:eek::eek:

That was one of my first tests done and as always, mine was high.

Let us know how you make out.:wink2:
