This is something new for me to do. I just happened to find this site when I googled lupus. I'm a 36 mother of two, that was diagnosed with lupus in February 2007. I can't believe it's been almost two years. I, finally, was able to stop taking prednisone last month (November). Even after two years, I'm still learning about how to deal with this, emotionally. I'm hoping this site will help me to deal with this, when it's hard for me to talk to people that don't understand.

Hi Bunni,
Welcome to the board. There are a LOT of great people here.
Many of us have dealt with sle for a long time, and have knowledge of how to survive in the trenches. The moderators are super too. They either know, or know where to get, needed information on how to survive this not so welcome companion.

Have a great Christmas,
Sally

welcome to the site

It is always nice to meet new members, although I am sorry that you have lupus
we are a large family of friends and members that support each other
ask any questions you have and someone will try and answer them.

having people to talk to with a chronic illness is important, here I have learned how to love and laugh again,

if you have time try chat, with two young children you need down time for just you, take one day at a time

best wishes on the holidays

Hello Bunni and welcome :)

As you guessed it's easy to talk to people here - hey, even I have learned to do it and I'm one of these people who usually goes "silent" when things are not so good.

The implicit understanding from people here is invaluable as is the incredible wealth of knowledge, the friendship and the laughs.

Look forward to hearing more from you,
Katharine
