Hello:wink2: I am Jean and I have been dx with lupus and fibromyalgia, I have a swollen tongue and a sore on my tongue. I have seen 2 dentists and an ENT dr with no results. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks
a big welcome to you, i think lots of ladies suffer from oral sores and i'm sure someone will be along with a lot more knowledge than me. As for swollen tongue, don't know?
I am just diagnosed with mixed connective tissue disease which has symptoms of lupus and i do get sores in my mouth and nose.
I hope you find this group as lovely and as helpful as I do.
I get mouth ulcers especially when my lupus is flaring, and I get a lot of mouth infections and tooth problems. I once had a very sore spot on my tongue which was a small gland that had swollen.
But I have never had the swollen tongue you describe. Is this a recent symptom? Perhaps you could ask your GP is there is anyone else that you can be referred to. My last two dentists did not know what Sjogrens was, so the rheumy referred me to a Sjogrens specialist at the dental hospital when the mouth problems started.
I used to get very bad mouth ulcers too and I actually found that a good chinese herbalist can sort this out. The herbs are boiled up and do not taste very well. However, it took only a couple of days for me to get rid of the ulcers.
I have already found this site to be so helpful! It is great to talk to others that really understand how tough this disease can be. We look ok so others don't think we should have a problem and also we put on a good front, right? F Jean
