Hello, Im new here (I already posted my intro ;))

I was just wondering when we get those horrid aches and pains and flares and all kinds of things...Well what little pickmeups do you do/have? Nice little things to take the edge off, a favourite tv program? A lovely cup of tea?
I like to think about these small things balancing out the badness.

So my question is is what day to day things make you feel just that little bit better?

Mine are; letters from my family, trying to eat my favourite dinner, watching tv under blankets ect.

silly post I know:p

Hi Sarie,

Your post is not silly at all. Everyone's ideas may just help someone else attempting to struggle through their day.

My favorite is a gentle hug from my husband. A call from my girls always picks up my spirits. Listening to music or deep breathing relaxes me. Reading a good book or watching a good movie help me escape. Watching the neighborhood cats play and chase imaginary things bring a smile. During the season I have my football games. Then of course there is always chocolate that I savor with every bite.

Take care,

Nice idea for a post, not silly at all :)

When I'm feeling all tired and fuzzy I love the days when I don't have to rush in the morning and I can sit watching silly things on daytime TV while eating my breakfast at a leisurely pace.

On the better days, I love being able to go for a good walk, one where I can get into a good stride and feel that yes, I couldn't do that before.

I love meals with friends at our house. Hubby is a cook, so he does these wonderful gastronomic meals and I don't even have to get dressed up if I don't feel like it.

So many things...simple things, I had trouble replying to this at first as I felt "where do I start?"...must mean things are pretty good on the whole hey!

I love going out for good walks too, here is lovely around this time of year, I like going for walks along the beach.
And nothing beats a well cooked (by someone else) meal to pick you up!

I like having to do lists so that I don't feel like im not acomplishing things, thats what gets me down with being ill all the time the feeling of not acheiving. So just little things like fixing something or calling/writing to a friend helps me to feel like IM DOING SOMETHING lol.

Maia: I wish I had a bath here, we just have a shower (quite typical of the flats here), i love nothing more than a nice soak with a good book!

Lazylegs: It sounds like you have loads of nice little pleasures, I too love listening to music and reading a good book, any book suggestions?

I also love it when my dear boyfriend drives me around or we just go on a drive, its nice to get out once in a while!

Reading the Bible books of Psalms and Proverbs always entertains me, Psalms are so beautiful and proverbs so witty.

Great post Idea..

I love to sleep late, get up and have a cup of tea, with milk and honey in it.

I love to sit, and listen to music and crochet. I feel, like I am helping some one else..doing this too, because..I give most items I make, away to other's.

I love Fall, here in Idaho. It is a beautiful serene time of year. I love to watch the red squirrels play.

I love my heated mattress pad, and love the way it feels, when I climb into it, on a chilly night..or day.

I love, to sit and pet my little dog, Cheese. There are so many little pleasures, in life..that make it worth living. I can't even count them all..but, a few of them..I have listed here.

Love,
Sandy

hi sarie,
Your posting isn't silly, and even if someone thinks that it is we all have our moments. I like to get in a hot shower with mess. head. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to find the right setting. I have done a fizz bath also(if you haven't tried one you are missing something). Homemade chicken noodle soup always makes me feel better. With halloween just around the corner a good scary movie(it may not be relaxing but it is fun to spend time with my daughter). Any time I spend with my daughter makes me feel better. I can say that lupus has made me so much happier with little things that happen. So many call it evil and for the most part it is but at the same time it brought all of us together and we share and understand each other. It makes us stop and think that the littlest things are great to us. We may of enjoyed these things before but I have to say since my dx's I enjoy a long hot soak in a tub more.
I am glad to see so many posting to this, sarie you fit right in!!!!!
