Was just wondering whether there is any connection between nosebleeds and lupus as I'm getting them more frequently. Yesterday I had one from my left nostril and 5 mins later from my right. Happened again today with blood clots. They only last a few minutes but where I was getting only 1 or 2 every few years, for the past year I've been getting them every week.

Hi Aggie

Can't help wondering when you last had your bloods done?

I know when I had recurrent nosebleeds it was significant, but everyone is different.

My advice would be check with doc and ask for bloods to be done,

Take care

Nosebleeds can be caused by many things. When it is cold out most of us tend to raise the heat causing dry and cracked nasal tissue. When it dries a scab forms and any trauma to the area will cause it to bleed again. You might try using a humidifier. On occasion I have used a little vaseline to keep the tissue moist.

Depending on your medication you could be more prone to nosebleeds.

If the nosebleeds continue to be frequent you should mention them to your doctor at your next visit.

Take care,

Thanks for the advice. We have a dehumidifier and I've been having frequent nosebleeds for approx 12 months (through every season). I'm awaiting results of blood tests so maybe Dr D'Cruz will be able to shed some light when I see him next.
