Hi...
I wanted to ask if anyone else suffers from numbness and 'hot' pain.
When I lay down on the couch to rest my arms, some fingers, feet; especially my big toe ache and feel numb... I try to shift my arms around, over my head, down by my sides.. nothing is comfortable.. I'm so frustrated because I need to rest, but every time I lay down I get numbness and pain.
I'm diabetic and not 'in control' of blood sugars very well right now (working on it, A1C is 7.2 in July) But I don't think this is diabetic neuropathy, it could be..
My biggest concern is my big toe feels hot and aches like a toothache, feels like it should look red and swollen, but it looks fine. A few weeks ago both big toes hurt, now just the right.. I can't point it out straight. My dad used to get gout a lot.. but its not the joint, its the tip.. I'm so new to all of this (mctd) diag in August... I don't know if this is a symptom of mctd or something else ? Please any insight ? :eek:uch: I need to rest... and I can't...

Hi there

I am wondering if you have talked to a doctor about your toe ? I have neuropathy, but it is spread throughout both feet, where as it sounds like you have a real focus in your toe going on. Which makes me wonder if it is something else. I have no clues about gout, but with your family history it is worth talking to your doctor about it.

Can you book an appointment to see your doctor ?

hope you feel better soon

I would also ask the doc. I too have neuropathy but when it is in a sleep stopping mode it is the whole foot and up part of my leg, both feet.

My hands always go numb too when sleeping or napping. They also feel like they should be huge and swollen and look pretty much normal. I don't know if that is purely the neuropathy or if it is bad circulation too...
