Hi everyone

Hope you are all well? I was going to post earlier in the week but have been quite tired this week!

Well I'm not quite sure how to describe this. I have been having dizzy spells for a long while now. Sometimes they are so bad I am in bed for days. Sometimes I am walking a long and its almost like de ja vue sort of thing, like there is two of me one in front and me!

Anyhow to get to the point... I went back to work Monday after 2 weeks of annual leave. Monday was ok I was busy and tired by the end of the day, Tuesday however was odd. I was stood in the reception area talking to one of the receptionists, when all of a sudden I felt dizzy. This then turned into this weird tingling all over and I thought I was going to pass out so grabbed a chair next thing I am asking her to get out of the way so I can get on the floor, because if i didn't I think the floor would have come to meet me! It panicked me a little and worried the receptionist too. I think this has happened once before but I cant remember when.

I got home around 2pm curled up on the sofa and went to sleep for several hours!

I had had breakfast that morning as usual and had just not long since had my mid morning snack (banana). Has this happened to anyone before? any Idea's??

Cheers

Claire
Ps Thinking about it whilst I am sat reading through this Today I have been really tired and people have been talking to me but I haven't really heard some of the conversation (bits in the middle) and my joints have been driving me nuts today.... maybe I'm just starting another small flare??? I'm still a bit new to all this really!
PPS sorry this is such an essay

Hi:

I would suggest that you make your rhumy aware of this. I have been dx with auto-immune vertigo as I keep having bouts just like yours. This may not be the same thing but it is possible.

Sadly there seems to be no med to correct this, but I know that I have to rest more as the more tired or stressed I get the longer a spell with last and the more drastic it is.

Hi Sam

Thanks for your imput. I did go to the ENT as the Dr I saw thought it might be menieres but as my hearing had not been affected as such he said it couldn't be so I went to see a physio for vestibular rehab . The exercises put my neck into spasm (that hurt). The physio ruled our bppv but said it sill could be meniers but just to early to have affected my hearing. I have now changed my GP so next time I have a big one I will go and see her!

Thanks again

Hi Claire,

Sounds like you need a referral to see a Neurologist. There are other things that can cause similar symptoms. Another opinion would not hurt since there is no agreement at this point.

Take care,

Thanks Lazylegs

Next time I go to see my Dr I will mention this to her! She is pretty cool and if she thinks there is a problem she will get it sorted!

Cheers
