Hello all!!!!

I was drinking my coffee this morning and thinking of you all and about how even though the forum is a wonderful, wonderful place and you've all supported me through unbearably hard times, I only tend to post here when things go wildly wrong and seldom ever post anything good!

So, on a different note today I'd like to tell you about all the things that have gone right lately! First of all, I've managed to stay out of hospital for what seems like an amazingly long time now and I'm actually doing incredibly well! After my last hospitalization (where things were rather touch and go for a while) I've been in almost perfect health! I'm still taking my meds of course and have even had to go into a&e a couple of times with cyanotic hands and needed heparin infusions etc etc but I wasn't admitted!!!!! I had my infusions as an outpatient and then skedaddled out of hospital and back home!!!! 8) I even had two friends come to Athens from Belgium and managed to stay out of hospital for the duration of their stay (when I was pretty sure that by some twist of fate something would go wrong as usual and they’d end up seeing the lovely Athens hospitals instead of the Acropolis and close-by taverns!)!!!

On the university front, I'm graduating this June and I'm actually at a stage where I can dare to imagine that I might even remain well long enough to do postgraduate studies after my graduation!!!! On top of my psychology studies, I'm doing some online anthropology courses from another university, I'm finishing my grade one Braille diploma (although being able to actually read Braille without being reminded of some form of torture is another much more amusing matter! :hehe: ) and am also doing a specialized course on learning through play for very young visually impaired and/or blind children!!!

I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of stuff here, one of which is that I'm going to a clinical psychology conference tomorrow in London and doing a charity run on Sunday (not sure I can mention for which charity here, hence the lack of specificity about that) with friends where we'll all be dressed in Santa suits with bright red hats; but I think you get my point without me continuing to bore you to death with an even longer, peppier post!! :p :hehe:

There’s really no specific point to this post, nothing major to announce, no life-changing stuff going on but drinking my coffee this morning I really just wanted to shout out to you all that I’m still here, happy as can possibly be and life is fantastic to say the least and I guess I wanted to share the good news with you all (at last!!)!!!!!

Zoi, you are an insperation to me...although I have never met you....after reading your mail I felt really ashamed of myself. So I'm going to finish my coffee , do my shopping and then sit down and write that essay I need to do to get on a course next year. Myconfidence has taken such a whack recently but after your fights and struggles earlier this year and your such a fighter ' I take it the glass is always half full for you, never half empty ' .I have officially adopted you as my Muse.......

Lots of love

Zoi,

That is wonderful news that things are going your way and your health and the health of your other friends are keeping up with you all. You are right we seem to come here when things are bad and at their worse, but forget to post all the good things in our lives. It great that you are doing so much and so close to completing want you want to do. I hope that your good health stays with you the rest of the year and many more years to come.

Hi Zoi,
You are truly amazing. So pleased you are feeling so positive. Lovely to read your post now and there is a point to it. You are fighting through all those problems and I am so inawed of you. An optimistic happy post like that gives us all a boost to carry on fighting our way through this horrid disease.
You definately are an inspiration and put me to shame.
We all have our good times and our bad dont we and its lovely to hear when friends are feeling good and also good to be able to offer comfort and support when things arnt going so well.
So thanks for posting that and hope things continue on the same road for a long time to come.

Zoi how wonderful to read your post.:woohoo:
I well remember how sick you were earlier this year when the docs were scratching their heads and making pessimistic noises.

You really are an inspiration and give hope to us all.

There is a massive point to your post................things can get better and there are good times to be had.

You've brightened my (yukky) day:)
