I have another question. I often get a pain in my side. It is always on my left side under my arm, I guess right on the side of my boob. Just a quick pain that feels like I was quickly pinched or stabbed in the lung. And then its gone. I'll have to pay attention to see if this is associated with me taking a deep breath or not.
Anyone feel this type of thing?
Sorry for all the questions. This disease is very new to me and has made me paranoid.

Nola,
I get pains and they seem to move, but yes I have just it is not the lung the rib cage. I am not sure one is related to the other and more of things being added or over doing things as I often do. If it continues contact your doctor and ask if this is something you should be worried about. Most of the time if it is they will bring you back in for an appointment.

Nola,

Not long ago, I was dealing with pretty much the same thing. It didn't matter if I was taking a deep breath, breathing or just plain stretching. Now, it seemed to hurt worse if I was taking a deep breath or yawning. After a trip to my wonderful doc, he sent me home on Indocin and told me that I had Pleurisy.

Pleurisy is an inflammation of the pleura, the lining of the cavity surrounding the lungs. It is normally quite painful. It can be infectious to non-infectious. Regardless, you need to see a doc and let him know what is going on. A couple of xrays and a good listen to the lungs and the doc should have a good handle on it. If it turns out to be Pleurisy and you take your entire script of meds, do not be alarmed if you still have the same pain. It can take several prescriptions to get thru it. It took me three months to get over mine and then my doc had me take an extra two weeks for good measure. Now, I'm better than new.

Like I said it may or may not be Pleurisy so get to your doc and get things checked out. Always best to have a professional look at it and checks things out. I just play one on tv. haha

Hi there, Nola, and a very warm welcome to this great site. There are no questions that you cannot ask on this site, and we are all here to help and support everyone
else. I got tired of telling the mamogram lady that "yes" there IS something that hurts in one breast. Finally I brought it up my Rheumy, and I told her it had been 8yrs of this. I had a sonagram, and they found a pinched nerveon one of the bottom ribs and it hurts the whole left side of one breast. I hope this helps. glad you're here.
