Hi Everyone

I need your advice please!

I suffer with sinus problems on and off and 4 years ago I had fluid in my left cheek which they put down to my sinuses. I had that drained but I would continually still get the odd sinus infection.:(

My problem is that since the beginning of the year since I started becoming unwell I am once again experiencing alot of pain in my face.
I've mentioned it several times to the docs but nothing.

Anyhow these last few days my left eye is once again swollen and half shut along with great pain. My left cheek is also swollen and painful. The pain also extends into the back of the eye, my ear, down the left side of my head and now I've begun getting pain down the left side of my neck? I'm wondering if this is connected as I initially put it down to probably sleeping awkwardly.

Is this all generally what comes with a sinus infection because it just seems to be getting worse:(
Is there anything that I could do at home to help relieve things?

My GP only a couple of months ago said that the fluid in my cheek years ago should have been investigated further and I shouldn't have accepted that it was down to sinus problems but to be honest I didn't really know alot about sinus problems so just accepted what the medical people were telling me!

Oh my I feel really weak at the moment and not too good to say the least.

Can I just say also that along with the left eye I've had little tiny like blisters appear on the bottom lip of my right eye. They last around a day or two then disappear for a day before coming back. Do any of you have such an experience on what it could be?

Thankyou all so much for reading and taking time to care.:)

PS Hope you all have a really great weekend if not a relaxing one:hehe:

Hi Mrs M,

I'm sorry to hear that you are in such pain. I usually have a sinus issue every year,, sometimes it causes me to go to the emergency room due to the fact i'm so nauscous i can't take my meds. Then one thing leads to another etc.

I don't remember in my 2 yrs of coming to this site anyone ever mentionings symptoms such as yours. But that doesn't mean someone hear can not relate to your problem.

I'm thinking maybe you should see an ear, nose and throat doctor to pinpoint the cause of your swelling since they seem to think it is due to sinuses. Especially, since you are in pain. If you cannot see someone soon then go to emergency room at least and have it evaluated immediately.

I'll be thinking of you Mrs M.

Take Care

Mrs M,

For today I suggest a GP appointment, perhaps you are in need of antibiotics. If surgery is closed get an out of hours emergency appt.

Also ask GP for an ENT refferal as its a reoccuring problem.

My local hospital runs emergency ENT walk in service so perhaps yours does too, just takes a simple phone call/fax from the GP!

If it gets unbearable go straight to A&E.

Take care,

Thankyou for your help guys!

Today my eye is open more so things are getting better a little. Hubby insists I go to GP tomorrow and get it checked out.

Going to GP bothers me as last time I went about the same issue only a couple a months ago he didn't seem bothered and said that if I had so much pain in my face etc I would look different? Strange as when it was bad 4 years ago I looked much better than what I do now and the pain is much worse than then so if I had a build up of fluid then who's to say I haven't again?

Oh me I'm mumbling:lol: It is one of those days actually!!!!! Hubby's just smiled all day at me as he knows I am rambling and not getting my words out in order or even at all.:rotfl:

Hi

Hi Mrs M

I sympathise with you, i also suffer with sinus infection. I too get the swelling under my eye, some days worse than others but always seem to be slightly swollen. The odd thing is i dont have it just when i have a sinus infection. It is my left eye too.....not that im sure it makes any difference!

I tend to lay on my left side at night and the swelling is certainly worse in the mornings and seems to drain a little as day goes on. My docotors don't appear bothered about it if i dont have pains, if i have pains they just give me yet another load of antibiotics.

As the others say you should most deffinatley go to your doc as it ceartaily sounds to me you have an infection and that has to be treated.

Good luck, i woud be interested how you get on

Jane
