Hello and :welcome:
Diagnosis is a very tough time. You know that something is obviously wrong but are still in the middle of a complex process where answers just never seem clear enough.
I'm afraid that auto-immune diseases are very complex and it isn't easy, even for the best of docs, to give out answers as quickly as we would like.
I was a teacher in the private sector (I used to do in-company training) but I think the problems with keeping up with work are really very similar to anyone suffering from the terrible tiredness and pain that we often have.
The thing that is important to remember here is that things can improve greatly once you are on treatment and it is working properly. Of course, once again, you will need to be patient. The main treatments for lupus and other auto-immune diseases will take time to work fully and perhaps time to find what suits you best.
When reading through the boards here you could have a very negative view of life with lupus. Please bear in mind that those who post here are often "newly diagnosed" or "not yet diagnosed". The remainder are the rarer more severely affected lupus sufferers. Many many people with lupus are out there working away, leading busy professional and private lives and have no time to be coming here.
Have you been referred to a rheumatologist? Try to make sure you see someone who specialises in auto-immune diseases, not all rheumies do.
Bye for now and hugs
