Hi Countrylass, I had foot joint surgery in March this year and was referred to the lower limb physio classes of which my first was on Monday. I am advised they are over a four week course however additional courses may be had if necessary. At mine it was like a mini obstacle course, walking or jogging (if you can) on a trampette followed by lying on a bed doing foot excercises using a theraband then onto stepping and an excercises bike. It certainly wasn't what I was expecting at all - felt like I had spent a day in a gymnasium. That tired feeling soon went. It was very much worthwhile as you learn what you can do i think when you have had an injury you become reluctant to use that particular part of your body as you dont want to cause any unnecessary pain. I just need to make sure I go in trainers next week rather than sandals. Good luck x

Hi Mel,

On days I had physio I tried not to have any plans afterwards. I was just too fatigued to do much of anything. Chores needing to be done I did in the morning before I went. I also found it helped to apply ice to any complaining body parts.

Take care,

Hey, I'm looking to potentially study at UOA next year due to the lower course fees than in Sydney. Has anyone here completed or is currently enrolled in the Master of Physiotherapy and can comment on how well they’re finding the course overall? Is it well put together, is the course established, what job prospects after graduating, etc? Additionally, I’m considering the Master of Science (Clinical Exercise Physiology), but it seems the job prospects within NZ is basically zero according to job search websites? Would be great to get an opinion on this! Thank you!
