Sorry, that happened to you.

People (mostly-inlaws), have made very rude remarks to me, about not working..They had to work, so they figured, so should I.

They knew I was ill, but, either didn't care to find out how ill I was, or didn't care to know, how Ill I was.

After one comment, in particular, I thought to myself. I would glady work three jobs..and be healthy, than have ill health and be home all day.

I don't understand, how someone could be so pathetic as to envy, someone that is ill, just because they don't work? Or, because they qualify for a particular parking spot.

You know, I have tried and tried, with these people, because they are my husband's family. But, they are just plain rude to me..They are coming for Christmas..To stay with my husband's niece.

I have been trying to communicate by emails. I don't get any responses. I told my husband, that If I don't hear anything between now and the time, they fly in for a visit. I will be excluding myself from family get togethers.

I feel, I am within reason, and being more than fair. These people have been been very hard on both my husband and myself, for years, but especially when we needed, support from them the most. I am working on my own forgiveness issues, but at the same time..don't want to act like a beaten animal, and come across begging for thier attentions or company.

Anyway, sorry for another ramble. But, I don't know how some can be so ingnorant..

Love,
Sandy

Well done for having given her an answer straight off - I always think of the thing I could have said after when it's too late!

Wendy,

You have to remember that people do not see our problems like the physical disablities that many people have. I can understand what you are saying for the most part we are patient as can be but there is a point were you need to let the world know just what their stupidness does to all of us and on that note way to go.

Sandy,

In reply to you I feel sorry for them as they have not taken the time to learn what a truely wonderful person you really are, of course one of them did your husband. They are worse then we are as they have a world wide disease ignorance. I hear it is spreading like wildfires do. Well, you are right you do not need people with that kind of energy around you and I hope you have a nice Christmas either way.

Although I never, ever critisized anyone for having disability permits or not working (my father was disabled) I KNOW I did not really, really understand what it was like to be in constant pain until I was in it. These people have never had to put themselves in anothers place and are missing whatever it takes to be sympathetic. They are disabled emotionally, at least we are only disabled physically. That may sound like hearsay but since I believe in souls, I believe that emotions that come from soul last forever, physical discomfort only last for this life. I'm not making light of physical discomfort, it can take us to the end of our limits and beyond, but there is something better after it all ends.

Hope I wasn't being too push or too spiritual. You did a wonderful job handling the rude woman who was in your car.

Wendy,

How wonderful that the school was so helpful in getting you a permit/pass. I have a handicap parking permit that allows me to park in special parking spots that are normally located close to the front doors of shopping stores, malls, centers, hospitals, doctors offices, etc. I had someone actually come up to me in the grocery store, "it must be nice to be able to park so close, especially in the winter." I was dumb founded but tried not to miss a beat and said, "it must be nice to have to health lungs and not have to wear oxygen. And oh, look, you walk upright, must be nice, It's a total *bleep* to get a motor scooter thru the slushy snow".

Keep your head up. While this disease is not the best thing to have, we have the best site to meet and share our stories with each other and meet great people.

Nancy
