Sorry to be back so soon and with sad news,

My father, as some of you know, has been very sick recently. His condition hasn't improved and his doctors really don't think he has long to live.

I would like to ask you all if you could say a little prayer for him and hopefully make his passing, when it comes, easier and also pray for my Mum who is at her wits end and like us all suffers from lupus.

hugs to all,
Katharine

I am very sorry to hear your news. Of course I will pray for you all.
There is nothing helpful I can say - I feel useless, but if you want to chat any time I am always here.

Hello Everybody,

I just wanted to give you all an update following your kind thoughts and prayers.

Dad has remained stable. The pneumonia was brought quickly under control this time (even if it is the 5th or 6th time these last 6 months). He still can't really breathe due to very advanced COPD and has to remain on high levels of oxygen. One of the biggest problems was severe panic attakcs which they have FINALLY seemed to have brought under control.

The outlook hasn't really changed but at least he is more comfortable for the time being and Mum ca rest a little.

thanks again all,
Katharine
Hi Katharine,

Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. This must be very difficult for you - especially his lingering suffering, with no real hope in the long term, but also the endurance of getting through each new day.

I hope you are able to get some rest too.

Hugs Cath

Katherine,

My thoughts are still with you and your family!

Take good care off yourself!

Hugs

Lesley
Thank you Cath and Lesley,

As you were saying Cath it is the lack of optimism and the lingering which are so hard. Far more so for Mum than me. Being so far away I am "protected" from the stress of seeing that on a daily basis.
