My rheumatologist just started me back on short term prednisone to see if it would help the horrible aching I'm having in my legs. I've started with 20 mg for 3 days, then 10 then 5 ....

Anyway... does prednisone lower body temperature like NSAID's do?

I've just finished my 3 days of 20 mg ....not much releif from the pain. I did have bloodwork done before starting and will get the results next week. I hope the prednisone kicks in soon! :sigh:

Hi Michelle,

If I am flaring prednisone definitely lowers my temperature. On a daily basis it doesn't seem to.

Everyone's body temperature fluctuates thru the day, and not everyone has precisely the same body temperature as 98.6'F or 37'C. http://hypertextbook.com/facts/LenaWong.shtml beside you have aches to deal with that are the real issue. Good luck with the pred. it works quite well for me.
