Hey all...

I have been prescribed with mepacrine today, really hoping that it will work. 100mg dayly for a month or so and then reduce to 50. wasnt very happy with the doctor that i saw today at st.thomas so requested to see dr.D'cruz next time. My skin is pretty bad at the moment so you can imagine looking like this for the past year so im really really praying that mepacrine will work just fine. please keep posting more info about it. we are all survivors right!?

Welcome to the forum Nayara ! :)

I'm sorry about your skin problems. I take Mepacrine too but along with another anti malarial, a stronger version of Plaquenil called chloroquine.
I found the Mepacrine made a huge difference and was very helpful for joints and fatigue too.
I recently read that in fact Mepacrine often causes more tummy upsets than Plaquenil at first so maybe you should start on a lower dose and work up to the 100mgs a day. It's a pity to be put off such a useful medicine.

It should start making a difference fairly soon. Dr D Cruz is wonderful.

Good Luck with it ! Let us know how it goes please

Clare
