Er anyone with lupus or another suspected auto-immune disease should stay well away from the sun!

Not only are most lupus patients quite (or very) photosensitive but it can also trigger a flare of the disease.

I'm not sure about exactly what you are describing, especially with blood under the skin but it is definitely not normal.

Did it look anything like the rash in the first picture here? I found this in Clare's thread about photosensitive rashes - well worth having a look.

http://dermnetnz.org/immune/dermatomyositis.html

That would be odd as that is a dermatomyositis rash and that's pretty rare but it sounds a little like that.

It sounds like you fried the veins in your legs until they melted a bit letting the blood seep out - or something like that. A tan represents damaged skin
Try using the excellent tanning lotions.

It's an idea to take photos of any skin problems since they are rarely there when it would come in really handy.

We don't care about spelling here :)
Cheers

Hi there, a good rule to remember is that the sun is your enemy. And no matter how light or dark the shade of your skin is, if you can't stay out of the sun completely, (which would be the perfect solution), you must use the highest number of a good sun lotion. You should also use it under your face foundation. Anything over 50-60 number is good. Be carefull.
