:( I supose that the only thing that we can say to that is that there are people out there trying and one day, hopefully, they'll get there but it is a meagre consolation indeed.

Oh no how disappointing

I'm 'reading through the fog' tonight so please correct me if I'm wrong but did it really say that cellcept & rituximab failed in the last stages of trials to treat lupus???? I'm puzzled

It's probably just my tired brain

thanks for posting clare

Hi Karen,

You did read it correctly. That doesn't mean to say that Cell Cept and Rituxan don't help some people. They just don't meet enough of the critieria standards and don't show consistent improvement in managing the disease.

Since these drugs are helpful for some individuals some doctors are still prescribing them off label. I use Cell Cept as a maintenance drug with pretty good success. When things get bad, I get Rituxan to bring me back to a base level.

Take care,
Lazylegs

Yes it does say that and they did fail the trials for lupus. They are being used for lupus 'off label'. That's why funding can be so hard. :(
