I had to stop methotrexate for 5 weeks when I had major surgery. It didn't appear to make any difference, (though I did have my steroids increased temporarily from 5mg to 10mg during that time).
I was told that Mtx has a half life of around 6 weeks, so if you've been using it for a while a break of a couple of weeks may not be noticeable at all.
