I have seen a few people talk of swelling. Can you please elaborate? I occasionally get joint swelling but I was wondering if any others have ever had swelling almost all over the whole body?

Thanks

Hi there,

I am sure others will be along here as this seems to be common with a lot of us.

As for me I get random swelling throughout my body that waxes and wanes for no good reason.

In the past I have had swelling of my breast, neck, one let from the knee down, inside of my arm opposite to my elbow, etc..... You get the idea.

I think random swelling is common with Lupus as well as some other AI diseases.

Thank god they make drugs to help with these life annoyances.

Hi,
I also get swelling all over, but I always thought it was water retention. My eyes get so swollen sometimes it looks like I've been up partying all night when, in fact, I've had a good sleep. It's so annoying.

Hi enoreg and welcome :)

You mentioned in your other post that you have ongoing kidney problems, if kidneys aren't functioning well that's one reason for fluid retention. Of course there are many others too, heart problems being one of the more sinister ones. There are other reasons of course, not so serious.

My right foot swelled up last May. I called the hospital.(it happened on Mothers Day) They just told me to put my foot up all day. I did tell them I had lupus and heart failure.

When I saw my cardiologist. He sent me right away to get my leg ultra sound. He was very concern about blood clots. Plus I got a lecture about getting to a specialist right away with swelling.

When I saw my rhumey I got the same lecture that my cardiologist gave me. He also asked if I had an ultra sound done on that leg. He was concerned about lupus and my kidneys. I had to do a 24 hr urine test. (actually 2 but that is another story.)

From my long winded post:lol: I am saying get it checked out. Don't think it is just lupus and push it aside. New symptoms need to be checked out.

Take care,
Lyn
