Hi All

Sorry, it's my day to bombard the boards in an attempt to get some help in my crusade!

I have autoimmune underactive thyroid which is supposedly well-controlled. However, I've been flaring really, really badly for the past 4 months. I've been getting really bad pain in my neck - just like before my thyroid packed up. I should probably add that just before I was diagnosed my TSH was tested and fine, then six weeks later it was 160, and I looked decidedly unattractive with the fattest face you've ever seen!

Anyway, back to the point. People have noticed that my face looks really puffy, again. I haven't put on any weight, and tend to err on the side of being slightly underweight, so it can't be that.

Great I feel awful and now look like a puff ball as well!

I will go and speak to my GP about it next week, but was just wondering if anyone else had had similar experiences?

Thanks

Sammy

Sammy,
I have not problems with my thyriod but do have swelling in places I wish would stop. I hate looking like a blow fish, talk to the doctor and if things get worse consider a trip to the er if you don't think you can wait. I would tell the doctor that you are concerned and what you are concerned about it help to find answers faster for you.
Good luck,
Tammy

Hello Sammy,

Recently there was a discussion here about swelling of the face. It was started under "Swelling" by Debatat, and was earlier this month. Sorry, I don't know how to set up links but think it may be of interest to you.

All the best.
