Footcare
Hi June B
just to help to further your question.
Since start of last year and actually all my life I had to get my GP (in Australia) to start referring me to specialists (as we have none in our city). So I am on Plaquenil, and over our Medicare Safety Net last year, and now this year.
So I checked on the Net and found the Federal Primary Health Care, where I asked my GP to set that up. That meant I could see a dietician, podiatrist etc very cheaply- :lol:for chronic problems.
So last year I did see the podiatrist re pigeontoes shoes when young, walking gait etc. He even cut my toenails. As inserts he suggested were soo expensive and on Search function here posts questioned them, didn't get them.
Review re PHC I insisted on again last month means I went to the dietician (giving her runoff of lupus diets etc). So later this month I go back to podiatrist as my left big toe is black and nail coming off slowly, although it is my right foot that has the problem.
My daughter, at 5, had similar, toenails deformed, toes swollen, but specialists down south recognised the complaint ,and tablets etc fixed it permanently.
Will be interested to see how you are going.
